About Us
Mount Zion Baptist Church was started in 2014 by the leadership of Temple Baptist Church under the supervision of Rev. Ndiba Ephraim. With over 50 Adults/Young Adults and 70 children, we grow into one of the fastest developing communities of Bamendankwe-Bamenda. We are a people who love Jesus and value worship. Prayer and the Word of God are our staying power and by it we wage the good warfare. Our Ministers under the leadership of Pastor Tanko are vibrant and apt as can be. You are welcome to join a place where everyone is talking to God and about God.

Our Mission
Mount Zion Baptist Church Bamendankwe exists to raise a Community of Biblically Sound and Spiritually Vibrant Believers in Jesus Christ who seek to reach our Community and the Nations with the Beauty and Glory of Christ through the Gospel (Acts 2:40-47; Matthew 9:35-38).

The church, as presented in the Book of Acts, is our working model at Mount Zion. While we may never be like the church in Acts, we seek to get as close to the original design as possible.
Attract: With our character, passion, and message, we seek to attract people from our community and beyond to the beauty of Christ and the Church (Acts 2:1-12).
Connect: Through generous hospitality, in a Holy Spirit-filled atmosphere, we constantly connect with those who come in to worship/fellowship. We share good and bad times in the spirit of love and respect (Acts 2:14-36).
Transform: For every connection we make, our ultimate commitment is to the transformation of their hearts and lives. Broken people receive holistic restoration as they find their way back to Jesus (Acts 2:37-41).
Strengthen: Every member of Mount Zion Baptist Church is privileged to experience genuine, heartfelt discipleship. This is a secret to global impact, one equipped believer at a time (Acts 2:42-47).
Core Values
Worship
We spend quality time in worship. Our Music and Worship team is thoroughly equipped to lead us in worship every meeting day. We invoke the presence of God and commit all our cares to him as we daily ascend to the throne room of his Majesty with our praise and Worship.
Fellowship
We value time together! You can expect an environment with warm hearts and pure souls. We pray, laugh, cry, have fun, and help each other. You can expect impactful sermons, powerful worship, vibrant/dynamic leadership, and a vibrant Children's Ministry.
Discipleship
From evangelism to Christian education, our teams are engaged daily in the work of seeking new believers, and equipping all for the works of ministry and victory through life's challenges. We look to Jesus as the author and perfecter of our faith.
Prayer
Prayer is our bonding factor. We value private and corporate prayer. This explains why our Sunday evening meetings (Liberation Hour) are dedicated to worship and prayer. Mount Zion Christians and those from other churches come every Sunday from 4-6:30pm to pray and seek the face of God. We have a powerful prayer team and we intercede daily for our members and our community.
Bible Study
We give special attention to in-depth study of the word. Every Sunday morning, Wednesday Evening, and during various small group meetings, Pastor Tanko and our dedicated team of volunteers in the Christian Education and Discipleship Ministry explain the Word of God to us in a manner that every member can relate with.
We enjoy studying together, but we study also individually throughout the week outside of our church gatherings.
Service
We serve Christ, the Church, and our Community. Members of our church serve each other and the community in various ways. Each member considers themselves an ambassador for Christ in their area of service in the community.
Our members serve in local Elementary and Secondary Schools, NGOs, various Government institutions, Health institutions, Water supply establishments, etc. We are represented in every part of community and we take Christ to our peers and coworkers in love and through faithful service.
Children's Ministry
Our children's ministry is intentionally set up with qualified volunteer staff to ensure sound biblical teachings and deep worship/fervent prayer. The teachers and coordinators lead the students through their activities in a fun and friendly environment.
Using games and special tools to teach the children, our children's teachers are among some of the most loving and gentle people you can have in our community.
